VOLUNTEERS

GETTING INVOLVED.
Our 85 dedicated volunteers come in daily from 4:00 pm to 6:45 pm in teams of 6-8 people to prepare and serve dinner and clean-up afterwards. Our volunteers liberally dispense a warm welcome and some good cheer with their smiles and kindness to our guests whocome to our door hungry.

For most people, getting involved means becoming a part of a weeknight team that prepares and serves the evening’s supper. To achieve this end, it is necessary for people to begin arriving between 4:00 and 4:30pm.

On some evenings it will mean arriving early enough to get soup or a casserole organized and in the oven to be ready for 5:00 pm. When fresh vegetables are available, they need to be used quickly, before spoiling.

While our average numbers are around 150 people per night this varies greatly. Generally 110 or so people opt to eat inside. This means preparing enough soup or casserole for them.
